Comment Solids Handling

An economic way to discharge bulk bags

By Chemical Engineering |

The Model T4 bulk-bag discharger empties flat-bottom disposable bags without a bottom spout, allowing a rapid, dust-free method handling low-value or hazardous products. The equipment consists of a robust frame and discharge dish, which has a knife to pierce the base of the bag for seam-to-seam discharging. A double membrane with dust extraction facility ensures total containment of the dust. The Model T4 is mounted on wheels for easy moving, and is available with a vibrating mechanism for stubborn-flowing materials. Disposable bags are lowered into the discharger by a hoist or forklift. The bag sits on a deep dish within the frame, and the frame is surrounded by the dust membrane. — Spiroflow Systems Inc., Fort Mill, S.C. www.spiroflowsystems.com
