AdvantaPure expands its manufacturing operations due to high demand for single-use systems

| By Dorothy Lozowski

AdvantaPure (Southhampton, Pa.; www.advantapure.com), a company that specializes in ultra-clean products for the pharmaceutical, biomedical, food, beverage, and chemical industries, has increased its production capabilities for the manufacture of single-use silicone products. The rapid adoption of single-use systems, particularly in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing, has prompted this most recent manufacturing expansion — the second in less than two years (for CE’s recent Newsfront on single-use equipment, see Disposable Equipment, Chem. Eng., March 2010)

“When we expanded in 2008,” says Ken Baker, CEO of AdvantaPure, “we thought the size of the facility would suit us for a number of years. But the industry’s conversion to single use has really taken off. It was absolutely necessary to expand again to meet the demands — both current and anticipated — of our customers.”

The company expects orders for single-use systems to continue to grow. It offers a number of products in this area, such as tubing, reinforced hose, fittings, filters, bags, aseptic connectors and more.
