AdvantaPure (Southhampton, Pa.; www.advantapure.com), a company that specializes in ultra-clean products for the pharmaceutical, biomedical, food, beverage, and chemical industries, has increased its production capabilities for the manufacture of single-use silicone products. The rapid adoption of single-use systems, particularly in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing, has prompted this most recent manufacturing expansion — the second in less than two years (for CE’s recent Newsfront on single-use equipment, see Disposable Equipment, Chem. “When we expanded in 2008,” says Ken Baker, CEO of AdvantaPure, “we thought the size of the facility would suit us for a number of years. But the industry’s conversion to single use has really taken off. It was absolutely necessary to expand again to meet the demands — both current and anticipated — of our customers.”
The company expects orders for single-use systems to continue to grow. It offers a number of products in this area, such as tubing, reinforced hose, fittings, filters, bags, aseptic connectors and more.
