A new pump model DB5.5 (photo) has been added to the range of Finish Thompson DP Series of plastic magnetic-drive, sealless centrifugal pumps. This new model DP pump covers flowrates up to 5 m3/h and differential heads of 6.5 m. Available from this company, the DB5.5 pumps can be specified in a choice of polypropylene or PVDF, and have extended dry-running capability. When specified with a carbon bushing, the pumps can be dry run for hours. The pumps handle working pressures up to 90 psi, so fluids with a high specific gravity (over 1.8) can be pumped without the need for impeller trimming. — Michael Smith Engineers, Woking, U.K.
