With the MiniTest 300, this company introduces the first vacuum leak detector that uses a quartz window sensor instead of the conventional mass-spectrometer detector. The MiniTest 300 operates at a working pressure of up to 200 mbar, without requiring additional pressure reduction. In comparison, a traditional MS-based leak detector requires a working pressure of 200 mbar or lower. As a result, labor and material costs are said tobe reduced, and maintenance costs are lower because the MiniTest is a helium partial measuring device that requires no internal pumping system. The detection limit of 5 x 10–7 mbar L/s (with pumping speed of 1 L/s) enables its use for leak detection in many industrial applications, including coating and vacuum systems and furnaces. — Pfeiffer Vacuum GmbH, Aßlar, Germany
