The preliminary value for the CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI) for June 2024 (most recent available) decreased slightly compared to the previous month’s value. Since the beginning of the year, the value has been hovering around 800. The small decline in the June CEPCI was a result of small decreases in each of the four subindices: Equipment; Construction Labor; Buildings; and Engineering & Supervision. The current CEPCI value now sits at 0.56% lower than the corresponding value from June 2023. Meanwhile, the Current Business Indicators show a small decline in the CPI output index and a small increase for the CPI operating rate for June 2024. The May CPI value of output was down slightly.
