The preliminary value for the CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI) for October 2021 (the most recent available) is once again higher than the previous month, continuing the upward trajectory of the index that has been observed for the past year. In October, three of the four major subindices that make up the CEPCI saw upticks (Equipment, Building and Construction Labor). The Engineering & Supervision subindex saw a small decline. The current CEPCI value now sits at 27.8% higher than the corresponding value from October 2020. The Current Business Indicators showed a small increase in the CPI Output Index for November and an increase in the CPI Value of Output Index for October 2021.
