The preliminary value for the CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI) for February 2020 (the most recent available) decreased slightly from the previous month’s value, with the values of the four major subindices comprising the CEPCI being mixed. While the Equipment subindex was down for February, the Construction Labor and Buildings subindices were ticked upward. The Engineering & Supervision remained flat. The current CEPCI value is 3.5% lower than the corresponding value from a year ago at the same time. Meanwhile, the Current Business Indicators (CBI) saw a drop in the CPI Output Index and CPI Operating Rate for March 2020, and decrease in the CPI value of output for February.
