The preliminary value for the CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI; the most recent available) for April 2019 increased from the previous month’s value, reversing two months of small declines. The increase in April for the overall CEPCI is a result of growth in the Equipment and Construction Labor subindices. The increase in those offset a small decline in the Buildings subindex. The Engineering & Supervision subindex remained unchanged from the previous month. The overall CEPCI preliminary value for April 2019 stands at 3.7% higher than the corresponding value from a year ago. Meanwhile, the CBI numbers for May 2019 show small increases in the CPI Output Index, CPI operating rate and Producer Prices.
