The preliminary value for the June 2018 CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI; most recent available) once again increased compared to the previous month’s value, continuing a string of monthly increases since the beginning of 2018. All four of the major subindices — Equipment, Buildings, Construction Labor and Engineering & Supervision moved higher for June, with the largest increases in Buildings and Equipment, and smaller increases in the other two subindices. The overal CEPCI for June stands at 10% higher than the corresponding value from June of last year. Meanwhile, the Current Business Indicators (CBI) saw the June value for the CPI output index rise slightly compared to last month.
